We Are Sunrise
2027 Stewardship Campaign
When I look at Sunrise, I see so many reasons to be grateful. I see people checking on one another, welcoming someone they haven’t met, teaching our children, and quietly taking care of things that most of us never notice. Through these simple acts, we experience God’s love and learn to share it with others.
In Matthew’s Gospel, Jesus tells us, “You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world.” Have you seen those God-colors at Sunrise? I have! I see God at work among us, caring for us and calling us to care for the world God loves.
Over this past year, we have also been looking more closely at the community that gathers in our building. Some of us come for worship. Others come for preschool, recovery meetings, Sunrise Players rehearsals, music rehearsals, Scouts... the list goes on! (And on...) Everyone who steps foot into this building comes for a reason. Our hope is that, whatever brings them here, they find friendship, support, and belonging. I believe God is calling us to pay attention to these connections and to the ways we can love and serve the people who are already here.
Our life together as a church helps us listen for God's call on our shared community life. Through worship, prayer, scripture, and caring for one another, we are reminded that we are loved by God. We are also sent out to share that love, especially with people who are hurting, lonely, or wondering whether there is a place for them.
As you prayerfully consider your 2027 pledge, think about where you see God at work and what you hope for Sunrise in the coming year. Ask questions, share your hopes, and consider what you can offer to help us continue answering God’s call together.
Thank you for being part of this church family and for joining us in our mission of Knowing Christ and making him known; serving Christ by serving others. God has cared for us in so many ways. I look forward to discovering how we can extend that care to our neighbors and the world. Together we shine.
